I was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina on March 16, 1955. I grew up in a small town called Pacolet, SC, with 3 siblings. I graduated from Pacolet High School in 1973, went into the nursing program at USC- Spartanburg (now called USC-Upstate). I have been a Registered Nurse for 47 years.
I have been a United Methodist all my life and active in the church. In 2006 I felt a call into the ministry, pastored a small church in Blythewood, SC as a certified lay speaker. In 2007 I completed Licensure School as a Certified Local Pastor. In 2013 I completed the basic course of study at Emory University.
I have served Zion UMC in Blythewood, SC, Rehoboth UMC in Leesville, Shiloh UMC in Gilbert and now serving full-time at Platt Springs UMC.
I am married to a Retired United Methodist Minister (Noble Miller), we have 3 children and 9 grandchildren.
Come to visit us at Platt Springs UMC where all are welcome!
Adriana was born and raised in a Southern Baptist family. She attended Winthrop University in Rock Hill and earned her Bachelor’s in Religious Studies in 2017. While in college she joined the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and worked at Grace Lutheran Church (Rock Hill) with the children’s ministry. After graduating, she entered the work-force, and eventually became a floater and co-teacher at Living Springs Lutheran Church Child Development Center (Columbia), as well as a church volunteer with the children and youth ministry at that parish.
In 2020 she (finally) answered God’s call and began attending seminary at Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary in Columbia, South Carolina. She graduated in May 2023 with a Master of Arts in Christian Ministry with a focus in Faith Formation.
Sherri grew up with music: throughout her childhood, she played in ensembles with her parents who were both professional gospel singers. Since then, music has always been a part of her life. She toured with multiple big bands and headlined cruise shows on ships all over the world. Now back in Springdale, she leads PSUMC’s music program while spending time with her family.
Melody began working at Platt Springs UMC on March 26, 2018. She graduated from Cardinal Newman High School and began working for AAFES at Fort Jackson. She retired from AAFES in 2003 and started working part-time. When she is not working she enjoys getting together with family and friends.
Lucille has worked at PSUMC for over 5 years. We appreciate her hard work and dedication in keeping our buildings clean for our members and visitors.
